This stage, cinema and television actor was born in 1903 in Arcisse, a hamlet of Saint-Chef. After 16 years with the Odeon, he joined the Comédie Française in 1939. There, he played some of the greatest roles in the French classical repertoire, including "Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme".
Buried in Paris in 1991, he was also the father of actress Françoise Seigner, who was buried in 2008 in Saint-Chef, and the grandfather of the actresses Emmanuelle and Mathilde Seigner.
