Chozeau Church
Presentation
The east-west facing church was built in the mid-19th century. The bas-relief decoration of the porch belltower represents Saint Bruno who founded the Grande Chartreuse Carthusian montastery.
The apse is probably the last vestige of the original chapel which stands in the village on a little rocky spur. Built by a small brotherhood of Augustinian monks from Crémieu Abbey, it kept its original thackstone roof for a long time.
