Château de Montchalin
Presentation
Beautiful 15th century castle with crenelated, round towers. Private property.
The La Balmes from Faucigny and Bugey settled in Montchalin, from which they took the name in 1280. The current castle was constructed in the 14th and 15th centuries, and remained in the family until the late 18th century.
It was owned by the Lombards and Fleurieus in the 19th century, and Mr. and Mr. Bertrand became the proprietor in 1998. The castle has retained its original appearance and charm.
